It's best to be open about your differences, invite questions, let people know your are just another kid that might have a more unique look, and then move on with being a student like everyone else. I'm glad to hear this also worked well for you. Peter is facing the unknown next year going into high school and not knowing any of the other students (and them not being familiar with him).
